The Entrecard Paid Advertisement system is now live and active as of April 4th.

Good news for the Today network bloggers! There is no need to cancel your membership with Entrecard because of the new change (third party advert). Entrecard founder Graham Langdon did say he will work it out with the owners of the network. The two blog/marketing gurus have reached an agreement to allow Today network bloggers to continue using Entrecard. They will however not pay for traffic from Entrecard.

There are new issues coming out such as our dashboards being bombarded with “paid ads” and what a tedious process to have them checked and approved manually one site after another. Then again, we don’t want to automatically approve the adverts either. We’ll see how this goes.

We have updated our gallery with a new category: “former entrecarder” that features some sites listed before but are no longer members of the Entrecard community for one reason or another.  As we have decided, we will not delete sites that we have already approved to appear in the gallery.

Over the last two weeks, Entrecard dropped some major news to its members primarily changing the way we are going to look at Entrecard moving forward. The move is Entrecard’s launching of a third-party ad network ‘imposed’ across the board that will affect all its members. Consequently, they are also going to offer cash-out service to those wanting to convert their EC credits into real money.

Since its launching in 2007, Entrecard was a virtual currency based network for bloggers. A member earns a credit every time she/he “drops” a card to another member. The process can be repeated 300 times a day making it possible to collect/earn credits to buy an ad space to another member’s site. Thus the exchange of ads and traffic from one blogger to another.
